AI-Powered Caregiving System for Elderly Wellbeing

Eldease is a smart caregiving research platform designed to support older adults through emotion-aware monitoring, predictive health insights, voice-based interaction, and timely caregiver support.

Literature Survey

Understanding the current state of elderly care, smart monitoring, and intelligent support systems.

The global elderly population is increasing rapidly, creating a growing need for safe, scalable, and accessible caregiving solutions. Traditional care methods often rely heavily on family members or caregivers, which can lead to stress, delayed intervention, and limited real-time awareness of the elder’s physical or emotional condition.

Recent work in artificial intelligence, computer vision, machine learning, and natural language processing has opened new possibilities for elderly care. Smart systems can support routine monitoring, identify unusual behavioral patterns, provide voice-based communication, and help reduce social isolation through interactive assistance.

However, many existing solutions focus only on one area, such as fall detection, health monitoring, or reminder systems. There is still strong value in building an integrated platform that combines emotional support, health-risk awareness, voice interaction, and caregiver communication into one unified elder care environment.

Research Gap

Critical limitations in current caregiving systems that motivate the Eldease platform.

Emotional Monitoring Gap

Most systems do not track emotional wellbeing or detect loneliness, sadness, anxiety, and stress in elderly users.

Predictive Care Gap

Existing tools rarely analyze daily behavior patterns to identify early warning signs of health risks.

Voice Interaction Gap

Many elderly users need simpler interaction methods, but current platforms often lack natural voice support.

Caregiver Communication Gap

There is limited integration between elderly-side support systems and real-time caregiver notifications.

Research Problem & Solution

The caregiving challenge we address and the intelligent platform we propose.

Research Problem

Elderly individuals who live independently or with minimal supervision often face loneliness, unnoticed emotional distress, delayed emergency responses, and insufficient day-to-day support. At the same time, caregivers may struggle to monitor wellbeing continuously due to time, distance, or workload constraints.

This creates a need for a unified system that can intelligently monitor wellbeing, detect emotional or health-related changes, provide voice-based support, and keep caregivers informed at the right time.

Our Solution: Eldease

Eldease is an AI-powered caregiving platform that combines emotion detection, health risk prediction, voice assistance, daily routine coaching, meal planning, therapy support, and emergency alerting in a single intelligent system.

The platform is designed to improve elderly wellbeing while also reducing caregiver burden by providing proactive insights, timely alerts, and meaningful support through accessible technology.
